Rachel Hilliard received a Bachelor of Commerce from University College Cork in 1990, an MA in Economics from the University of Exeter in 1994 and a PhD from Dublin City University Business School in 2002. She is a lecturer in Innovation and Technology Management at the Department Of Management at NUI Galway. She is also affiliated as a research associate to the Centre for Innovation and Structural Change at NUI Galway. She is an Associate Academic Director of the MSc in Technology Management developed by the Atlantic University Alliance. Her main research interests are in evolutionary economic, in particular the nature, origins and impacts of organisational capabilities on innovation and technical change. She is also currently involved in an OECD project on horizontal innovation policy.
