Dr Frank Barry is a lecturer in the Economics Department at University College Dublin, and was until recently editor of the Economic and Social Review. His professional interests are in theoretical and applied Macroeconomics, International Trade and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), and Corporate Strategy. He is the Irish co-ordinator of two trans-European research networks on FDI, and he has been engaged in recent years on research into Irish economic growth, the economics of the EU periphery and of Central and Eastern Europe, and issues concerning European Economic and Monetary Union.
