| Room 5, Ground Floor, Cairnes Graduate School of Business & Public Policy, NUI Galway | 12.00pm :: 18th October 2005 |
Many authors have noted that to be able to innovate in an effective way, companies need to create collaborations with other companies. Sharing knowledge across external organisational boundaries poses novel challenges to organisations attempting to manage their knowledge resources. This research examines the relationship between the knowledge exchanged through inter-organisational systems and performance. In the first seminar, Eoin Higgins focuses on formal project teams. His research is concerned with knowledge integration and the creative processes within these teams. In the second seminar, Eoin Whelan focuses on informal networks termed networks of practice`. His research is concerned with how electronic networks of practice facilitate the diffusion of knowledge at the inter-organisational level and do they lead to positive knowledge outcomes.
