Suhaib has 10 years experience in consultancy, construction and research. Suahib's research activities including seismic design of structures, development of new design codes for engineering structures, earthquake engineering and sustainable construction technologies. Prior to joining NUI Galway, he worked as a researcher in the EU Centre, Pavia, Italy and EPC, Barcelona, Spain. He has also worked as a consulting engineer on numerous projects in UAE. |

- Currently, lecturer on the following programmes at NUI Galway: BE in Civil Engineering, BE in Environmental Engineering, BE Energy Systems Engineering, BSc in Project & Construction Management.
- Teaching responsibilities include concrete technology, concrete design, strucural engineering design and fundamentals of engineering.

- Structural Engineering: Structures consisting of steel, concrete, masonry, timber and composite materials.
- Earthquake Engineering: response of structures to earthquakes, using both force and displacement-based assessment approaches. Steel, concrete, masonry and composite materials.
- Computational Mechanics: Numerical modelling; Nonlinear analysis; Time-history analysis; Time-frequency (wavelet) analysis; Finite element analysis.
