In this section, we have included links to a selection of bioethics networks and listservs in Ireland, the UK and Europe.
Bioethics (Ireland)
The
Bioethics (Ireland) listserv is open to anyone, but requires approval prior to posting by the list administrator, Dr. Donal O'Mathuna, School of Nursing, Dublin City University (DCU). This list is mainly for providing information on up-coming bioethics events and developments in the field.
Bioethics IrelandUK
This bioethics social network was established in April 2008.
Bioethics IrelandUK aims to bring together people working, researching and teaching in the area of bioethics from a variety of disciplines, including but not limited to philosophy, law, medicine, science, nursing, sociology and theology. While it is aimed at those working in Ireland and the UK, it is open to members in Europe and further afield. There are facilities for sub-groups devoted to specific topics in bioethics, e.g. embryo research, nanotechnologies, and event announcements as well as the usual discussion forum and blog facilities.
EuroEthics: Biomedical Ethics Database Project
The
EuroEthics database is a European Database on Medical Ethics. France, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden established the Euroethics Health Network (EHN), a standardised, labour-dividing European information and database network on biomedical ethics. National databases have been joined together into the unified European Database on Medical Ethics EuroEthics. The database currently comprises over 10,000 documents. It has links to bioethics conference and events calendars in addition to the extensive database of articles and documents.
Philos-L: Philosophy in Europe
Philos-L - Philosophy in Europe - is a listserv hosted by the University of Liverpool, which aims to facilitate cross-communication between philosophers working in all areas. The listserv disseminates information on calls for papers and event announcements also. While not explicitly devoted to bioethics, this can be a valuable means of keeping informed about bioethics and general philosophy events, CFPs and job advertisements. Philosophy and Bioethics Blog
Philosophy and Bioethics is the blog of the International Network for Philosophy and Bioethics (INPAB) founded by David Hunter (University of Ulster) and James Wilson (Keele). INPAB is a subsidiary of the
International Association of Bioethics. The aim of the blog is to provide a portal for the discussion of bioethics and in particular the interrelations between philosophy and bioethics.
The site hosts an RSS aggregator (the Motherlode), which provides constantly up-dated information on journal tables of content, news, blogs and resources. The 'useful links' section is genuinely useful!
Bioethics Forum
The
Bioethics Forum is not a blog but a website associated with the Hastings Center, which "seeks to promote smart, graceful, probing commentary on issues in bioethics - patient care, health policy, medical science and research, biotechnology, the beginnings and endings of life, and environment and health". It has links to bioethics articles from various online newspaper sources and links to bioethics blogs. The site feature commentaries by an impressive list of contributors, including Bonnie Steinbock, Erik Parens and Francoise Baylis.

weblog is written by the editors of the American Journal of Bioethics (AJOB) and is associated with the website of AJOB, bioethics.net. The blog has a
podcasts section (click the Podcast tab at the top of the page) and links to the news section of bioethics.net for comprehensive bioethics news.
Global Bioethics Blog
The
Global Ethics Blog is the English language blog of a collaborative bioethics project entitled 'Strengthening bioethics capacity and justice in health' funded by the Fogarty International Center, edited by Stuart Rennie (Project Manager, National Institute of Health, USA). The project aims to promote research ethics and bioethics in Democratic Republic of Congo and Francophone Africa.
Law and Neuroscience Blog
The Law and Neuroscience Blog is a blog analysing the ethical implications of neuroscience issues within the legal system. It is sponsered by the MacArthur
Law and Neuroscience Project, and its aim is to provide a resource that focuses on ethics, law, and neuroscience. The links to societies, other blogs, related books, and webpages provides a valuable addition to the website.
Neuroethics Blog
The
Neuroethics at the Core Blog is an interdisciplinary research group established by the
National Core for Neuroethics at the University of British Columbia. The blog is not meant for any discipline specifically, but wishes to incorporate the voices of educators, researchers, scientists, healthcare practicioners, clinicians, and the general public, and encourages comments and feedback. The blog is regularly updated and has a wealth of neuroethics related links.
Neuroethics & Law Blog
The
Neuroethics & Law Blog is an interdisciplinary forum for legal and ethical issues related to the mind and brain, edited by Prof. Adam Kobler, University of San Diego School of Law. The blog is meant to be of interest to bioethicists, legal academics, lawyers, neuroscientists, neurologists, cognitive scientists, psychologists, psychiatrists, philosophers, criminologists, behavioral economists, and others.

Bioethics Discussion Blog was created by Maurice Bernstein, MD. Comments are welcome on the once-, or twice-weekly topics posted by Bernstein. The extensive archive covers over 500 bioethical topics dating back to July 2005.
