Spanish

We offer courses in Spanish at undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma levels. Many of our students are beginners, who take our intensive basic Spanish course as first year undergraduates.  Students with Leaving Certificate Spanish (Grade C3 or higher) may take First Year Intermediate  Spanish.  Spanish is also available to undergraduate students of Law and Commerce.

‌Almost all of our undergraduate students take the BA International, a four-year programme that entails studying abroad in either Spain or Mexico at the end of  Second Year. Students on the  and  programmes also spend a year studying at a university in Spain.

We use a web-based system called Blackboard for many of the modules that we teach.

We are especially interested in the study of Spanish language and linguistics, and also specialise in Latin American literature. We offer research supervision in these areas to PhD level.
