Research
Research in the Discipline of Spanish encompasses a range of topic areas relating to modern Spanish and Latin American literature and culture, as well as the study of Spanish linguistics and lexicography and of issues relating to translation between Spanish and English. Specific topics currently being investigated include contemporary Mexican poetry; detective fiction in Spain and LatinAmerica; the writings of Isabel Allende; the relations between language and cultural difference and spatial reference in the works of Jorge Luis Borges.
