The bioassay laboratory is a wet lab facility within the School of Psychology, originally established to run enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) analyses to assess levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, and subsequently, immune and stress-related parameters such as SIgA, alpha amylase, and C-reactive protein, in saliva samples. Most recently, the laboratory has expanded to analyse DNA in human saliva.
