"In March 2012 NUI Galway hosted the premier
Diabetic Foot Management Conference
in Ireland. The conference was attended by delegates from The Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists in Ireland, The Institute of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, The Organisation of Chiropodists and Podiatrist of Ireland and The Wound Management Association of Ireland. "In March 2012 NUI Galway hosted the inaugural
China Ireland Relations Conference with over 120 delegates in attendance including government officials and dignitaries from China. The conference was a great success and the Committee was very happy with the conference facilities, IT support and catering in NUI Galway. In addition, the support offered by staff from the Conference Office in the build up to and during the event was very helpful. I am delighted to recommend NUI Galway as a venue for future conferences."

"
The Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland held “
Peace Proms 2012” in NUI Galway on the 4th and 5th February 2012. “Peace Proms” is a monumental choral and orchestral production involving a choir of 450 children and a 110 member orchestra along with soloists, and Drum and Piping Corps . The venue comfortably catered for a capacity audience along with the full complement of musicians. From the early planning stages until the final curtain, we found the staff at NUI Galway to be extremely helpful. From technical set up, to catering, car parking, crowd management and health and safety, they ensured the seamless organisation of our event. Huge thanks from everyone in the CBOI to Patricia, Barry, Laura and all the staff in Conferencing and the Kind Fisher. We look forward to our return."

“The
Galway Science & Technology Festival final day exhibition was held for the last two years at the Bailey Allen Hall & Orbsen Building at NUI Galway and c.24,000 people attended the 2011 event. The campus is a fantastic venue and a perfect fit for our needs in terms of size, location, parking, refreshment outlets, etc. The Festival, in partnership with NUI Galway, aims to bridge the gap between students and industry and encourage students to choose Science & Technology as their chosen field of study and future career.”

Administrator & Marketing Co-ordinator - Galway Science & Technology Festival 2012
"The
Irish Association of Barbershop Singers, decided to hold their 23rd. International Convention in the Bailey Allen Hall, NUI, Galway over 7th/8th October 2011. This involved 400 delegates from America, Finland, Sweden, England and Ireland, singing in quartet and chorus competitions in strict timing schedules.
We were impressed with the ambiance of the location, the flexibility of room design and ’set-up’,the availability of rooms for rehearsal, and the proximity of food and beverage. Patricia Walsh was an excellent contact person, being clear and decisive in information and in follow up communication.
Our experience with Patricia Walsh and her team was faultless throughout the lead up to the weekend and the actual weekend. Her gentle presence was supportive and helpful throughout. Her flexibility and easy address to our immediate needs was impeccable.
Delegates have voted our Galway Convention –’the best ever’ and we feel this is because of the ease with which the Bailey Allen Hall allowed quick access from rehearsal room to stage and to food and beverage. The lovely airy lobby /reception area allowed easy assembly of delegates and friendly interaction.
The Executive Committee of the Irish Association of Barbershop Singers was extremely pleased with our choice of location and would be happy to consider this location again for future conventions."

"On behalf of the whole performing arts community I would like to express my sincere thanks to NUI Galway for hosting the annual
Theatre Forum Conference.
We had a record attendance of more than 350 from all sides of the sector: theatre festivals, arts centres, touring theatre, dance and opera companies and freelance directors, designers, actors. playwrites and arts managers.
It was the first time we have held the conference in Galway and the response was phenomenal. Everyone was delighted with the facilities in the college."

"On my own behalf and that of the Irish Times Trust, I would like to thank you for your invitation to visit the University last Tuesday and for your generous hospitality in hosting a dinner for the Trust, the Editor Geraldine Kennedy and Managing Director Liam Kavanagh, with such an interesti ng group of people.
We
were very impressed by your presentation of the University's strategy and priorities and by what has been achieved over the past decade. We were delighted to have the opportunity to meet with Mike Turley and his colleagues in DERI and to explore the digital future and the implications for newspapers and quality journalism. I hope that there will be further contact between
DERI and the Irish Times as a result of the meeting. The dinner was most enjoyable."

"
The Labour Party held its 65th Party Conference, arguably our most successful Conference to date, at NUI Galway between the 16th and 18th April 2010. Over 1,000 delegates attended this major three day event, significant sections of which were televised live on RTE. We were so impressed with the facilities and staff that we are returning for our 2011 Conference and I really don’t think we could pay a higher compliment.
The reasons the Labour Party is returning to NUI Galway next April are easy to outline: the bright, spacious facilities at the conference centre, the superb staff service and the vibrant surrounds of the NUI Galway Campus and Galway City itself.
Given the quality of advice and service provided by the Conference Centre’s staff - from first enquiry to post conference paperwork nothing we asked was too much trouble - it was hard to reconcile that ours was the first national conference held in
the new Bailey Allen Hall. We are now looking forward to our 66th
National Conference knowing we will be in safe hands".
Ita McAuliffe
General Secretary
The Labour Party, April 2010
" We organized the 10th Annual Conference of the Association for Public Economic Theory (PET09) that was held at NUI Galway between June 17th and June 20th in 2009. The conference was a tremendous success with over 330 delegates attending, the vast majority of these from overseas. We have received many messages from delegates praising the organization of the conference. The support and advice from the conference office at NUI Galway from the time we bid for the conference to when the last delegate left Galway was outstanding. In particular we benefitted greatly from their project management skills in advising us as to what would work best for both the academic and social programmes of the conference. We would strongly recommend that anybody thinking of hosting a conference at NUI Galway should begin by contacting the conference office. Their expertise is second to none, and it was delightful to work with them."
