Note: Following submission of thesis softbound to the Student Information Desk (SID), it will be received by examiners within 10 working days. It is recommended that examiners have 6 weeks to review the thesis prior to the viva. 

When the decision has been made at Standing Committee of Academic Council to award a PhD, the following must be completed by the the relevant Conferring deadline.

  • final hard-bound thesis submitted (with required corrections completed and confirmed by the internal examiner, when necessary)
  • e-thesis uploaded
  • library submission form (EOG 051) submitted

After this deadline, once cleared by the Fees Office to graduate, the PhD student will be eligible to be conferred at the next available conferring ceremony.
