Dublin – Galway
There are two ways to reach Galway from Dublin and Dublin airport. The easiest and most convenient would be to take the bus. There are buses every half-an-hour (Irish Standard Time!) right at the airport terminal. There are two good services:
Gobus and
Citylink. Please avoid the Bus Eireann service, because they will take you through all the villages and towns on the way to Galway, and it will take about 3 and half-hours to reach Galway. You can either book your ticket online or buy it when you board the bus. Both these services are very good. It takes about 2 and half-hour to reach Galway from Dublin on the newly built motor-way. The journey is comfortable and the buses are equipped with internet (WiFi), for those who want to make last minute changes to your presentation! There are also trains from Dublin to Galway. To get the train, you have to get to the Heuston Station in the City. There are Airport Coaches available at Terminal 1 (don’t’ worry there are only two terminals Dublin airport!) that will take you to the Heuston station.
Shannon - Galway
Galway is about an hour-and-half from Shannon airport. It is a small airport and you have buses every hour to Galway at the airport.
Bus Eireann operates the service to and from Shannon airport.
Knock - Galway
Knock (Ireland West Airport Knock) is also a small airport and Bus Eireann operates a few buses every day between Galway and Knock Airport.
