Course Modules
BME4107: Biomedical Professional Experience Programme (BE+ME)
12 months long | Credits: 20
PEP aims to develop and provide evidence of Learning Outcomes which contribute to the achievement of the Engineering Degree Programme Outcomes. Students of a host organisation/company work on designated projects assigned by the host organisation. PEP aims to give students the opportunity to apply skills developed during the first three to four years of the degree programme and to gain valuable industry experience for application in subsequent programme years.

Learning Outcomes
- Apply themselves within a professional team environment in general engineering practice.
- Formulate appropriate solutions to engineering problems based on scientific and engineering knowledge.
- Design and perform laboratory experiments and tests in a logical and methodical manner.
- Apprise professional codes of practice, industry standards and regulatory and ethical frameworks.
- Apply industry-standard tools and processes that contribute to the manufacturing, development or control of engineering products.
- Apply project planning and personal management skills to the design processes of engineering products.
- Assess potential health and safety risk issues of engineering technology projects.
- Identify and plan personal career and professional development, source and interpret information relating to training resources, further education and future career plans.
