DJ6116: Writing for News
Semester 1 and Semester 2 | Credits: 10
In this module students will develop advanced writing skills across a range of genres. They will also practice the research, editing, and interview practices that are at the core of reportage independent of platform. They will also study the structure and role of the news media in Ireland and Internationally.

Learning Outcomes
- Critique the structure and role of the news media in Ireland.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the structure and role of the news media internationally.
- Produce print journalism content, across a range of genres, to a professional standard.
- Show an awareness of the various aspects of the reporting task.
- Undertake research, interviewing, story development, and editing.
