This module is an introduction to the theatre of early 20th century Ireland. It examines key plays of the period known as the Irish Literary Revival and considers the socio-politcal movements that influenced the plays and their reception.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Develop in-depth knowledge of several significant plays of the Irish Literary Revival
  2. Develop an ability to critically engage with literary texts and historical documents.
  3. Learn the importance of theatrical and social context for a critical understanding of dramatic texts
