  1. Have an understanding of the research process
  2. Appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of different methodological processes including epidemiological study design
  3. Have an understanding of basic data analysis techniques for quantitative data
  4. Understand the uses of information derived from different methodological processes
  5. Be able to develop a specific research question and select appropriate research methods
  6. Be able to employ statistical software (SPSS) to execute basic descriptive and analytical statistical techniques
  7. Be able to prepare a basic research protocol
