Genomics data science involves the application of data science techniques to the analysis of genomics data, including methodological developments as well as applied research across the broad range of areas in which genomics data are generated. NUI Galway hosts the SFI Centre for Research Training in Genomics Data Science, the mission of which is to train 100 PhD students in genomics data science over four student intakes. This PhD training programme will include a semester of full-time coursework, during which students will complete the coursework requirements of the structured PhD. Thereafter, the focus will be on the research project, leading to a thesis that will form the basis of the assessment of the degree.
