The objective of this module is to enable experienced managers to explore how analytics can improve the innovative success of organisations, and to understand the types of business problems that advanced analytical tools can address. Participants in this module will develop a critical understanding of business analytics within organisations and the tools used to construct decision making algorithms. Participants will also gain hands on experience using business analytics technologies.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Critically evaluate the role of business analytics in enhancing an organisation's performance and innovation capability.
  2. Evaluate different decision-making methods and tools.
  3. Understand and apply best practice in constructing data visualisations.
  4. Create predictive models, and evaluate and interpret such models to support fact-based decision making
  5. Contrast the different analytical tools and methods used by organisations
  6. Formulate a coherent argument with respect to which situations are most appropriate to use business intelligence and analytics tools and methods
