Prepares students for Minor Dissertation (15,000 wds) they will complete over the summer & submit in Aug. Under direction of agreed Supervisor in discipline indicated, they - select an appropriate research question in relation to issues of scholarly interest in their chosen area; - identify both the fundamental primary source materials & the scholarly literature available to complete the project; - develop both a methodological approach to the sources & a pragmatic timetable for research.

Learning Outcomes
  1. articulate major issues of scholars' interest in his/her proposed research area;
  2. identify the most important scholarly literature in that area;
  3. identify the key primary source materials in that area;
  4. formulate a research question & analyse the most relevant primary materials available to answer it in a 15,000 word dissertation.
