PS160: Research Methodology 2
Semester 2 | Credits: 5
The aim of this module is to introduce students to key research methods concepts and to critically appraise the value of published research. The module introduces students to research methods as a set of strategies derived from both quantitative and qualitative paradigms.
Learning Outcomes
- Define key research method concepts
- Explain basic principles of quantitative and qualitative research designs, including the calculation of sample size
- Recognize and address possible ethical issues which could arise within a research project
- Critically appraise the research methods of published papers
- Identify references and resources and cite appropriately
