PS6118: Applied Clinical Theory 4
Semester 1 | Credits: 5
This module covers Personal and Professional Development which aims to instill within the trainee effective reflective practice and self-care skills. The module is taught using a variety of experiential methodologies including role play and small group discussion. The student is encouraged to engage in personal reflection upon the experiences that have influenced their professional development over the course of their period of clinical training.

Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an awareness of their own personal and professional development needs.
- Show how to apply knowledge of racial, cultural and social issues to professional practice.
- Show an understanding of the change processes within the HSE and how these may impact upon the profession of clinical psychology.
- Prepare effectively for the transition to to a staff grade post in the Irish public health service.
- Demonstrate good case management and self-care skills.
