Course Modules
PS6144: Report of Clinical Activity 2
15 months long | Credits: 10
This course will normally deal with the practical application of clinical theory. It will include skills in assessment, formulation and intervention. Examination will be by continuous assessment in the form of a ‘Report of Clinical Activity’ undertaken during the appropriate supervised clinical placement.

Learning Outcomes
- Show that he/she can apply psychological skills to clinical problems in a competent manner.
- Show evidence of good general therapeutic skills such as empathy and sensitivity.
- Demonstrate a respectful and non-judgmental attitude towards culture, ethnicity and gender in their clinical work with clients.
- Show how presenting problems are influenced by age, developmental stage, health and cognitive status.
- Demonstrate that regardless of the therapeutic orientation utilised in a particular case, the trainee is able to adopt a Scientist-Practitioner approach involving an explicit psychological formulation.
- Re-assess and re-formulate the case as might be indicated.
