This module is aimed at exposing students to the process of human resource management, and the elements of strategy involved in effectively managing staff in business. It is aimed to give students the essential tools and knowledge before continuing to IHRM in Year 4.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Appreciate and apply the fundamentals of strategic human resource management to future roles in industry.
  2. Implement recruitment procedures within an organisation.
  3. Examine legal aspects of recruitment, such as content of contracts and required information in job descriptions.
  4. Evaluate the importance of employee development and the key features of a training and development policy.
  5. Manage the procedure involved in a grievance or disciplinary interview process.
