To develop knowledge and skills in the application of management accounting techniques and using the information generated for planning, controlling, decision making and performance evaluation purposes.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Develop an understanding of the basic principles and techniques of management accounting.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to calculate cost in a business and apply that information to make decisions.
  3. Recognise the importance of the role of the management accountant in providing information internally.
  4. Demonstrate the ability to select and apply appropriately decision making techniques to facilitate business decisions.
  5. Develop an appreciation of scarce resources and effective and efficient usage of same.
  6. Present information to assist management in planning, control and decision making.
  7. Critically assess the use of accounting information in the industry.
