TE166: Management of Training & Education
Semester 1 and Semester 2 | Credits: 10
This module examines key aspects of the management function in training and education. Topics include leadership, motivation, decision-making, change and conflict management.

Learning Outcomes
- Discuss the management of training in an organisation wide (strategic) context.
- Explain how effective training management impacts on culture, organisational and career development.
- Formulate evidence-based responses to issues relating to the leadership and management of training; learning and development, employee performance, motivation, reward, retention and recognition.
- Develop a coherent argument to communicate how related concepts, ideas and activities relate to professional experiences and differing environments.
- Apply related management skills (human, technical and conceptual) in group scenarios (controlled and sometimes pressured situations).
- Exercise judgement in applying professional competence in group situations to manage tasks collaboratively, guiding peers and taking personal responsibility for task completion.
- Manage and apply learning both independently and in a group context, to professional, ethical standards.
- Express a commitment to the application of management skills and principles in pursuing opportunities to improve personal performance standards.
