This module introduces you to the basic skills of reviewing literature and carrying out research. You will learn various techniques for gathering and organising research data.

Learning Outcomes
  1. Identify and describe a broad and up-to-date general knowledge and specialised knowledge of the variety of steps involved in a research process.
  2. Discover the context for research within professional practice. Identify the links between theory and research method within a professional practice.
  3. Select and apply research skills to analyse and respond to unpredictable and complex problems arising in the profession and its reflective practice.
  4. Prepare evidence-based conclusions that take due account of social, disciplinary and ethical insight.
  5. Exercise autonomy and judgement in applying knowledge and skills in a wide variety of contexts including professional practice and study.
  6. Organise research activities and project through the implementation of primary research using appropriate techniques and methodologies including the development of a literature review.
  7. Appraise learning tasks independently, professionally and ethically.
  8. Write an internalised personal world-view and critique personal learning in line with the content and expected.
