In addition to the eight weekend workshops and resource packs, students can avail of online support from dedicated module tutors. Blackboard, a web-based e-learning system, provides a forum for discussion between students and with tutors. E-mail and telephone support is also available. IT skills are not a prerequisite for entry to the programme. Blackboard and IT training will be provided at regular intervals throughout the programme.
An Introduction to Learning module, delivered during the first year of this programme, is designed to develop the time management, study and writing skills needed by students working towards third level qualifications. This will enable students to develop the skills needed to interact effectively in a blended learning environment.
The part-time B. Comm. is designed to provide a solid foundation in the key business disciplines. The programme will help students to gain the knowledge and skills to adapt to new business methods and contexts throughout their working life.
Recipients of the Diploma in Business will have a sound knowledge of the fundamentals of business and management. Graduates of the Degree programme will have a solid foundation in the key business disciplines.
The Diploma and Degree are aimed at mature students who may currently work in business or hope to in the future. Delivery by blended learning allows mature students, with work and/or family commitments, to study at times that suit their needs.
