Research Interests
Eimear is interested in health psychology research, specifically psychosomatic influences on stress, health and well-being. Additionally, she has an interest in individual differences in health behaviours and psychoneuroimmunology. Eimear’s PhD topic comes under the title of Change and stress: Social support and mental and physical well-being. Initially, her research will examine whether social support moderates the relationship between hostility or trait anger and physiological measures of cardiovascular and immune function. Eimear is currently working as co-researcher on a research project investigating the effects of cognitive tasks that stimulate the left pre-frontal cortex on mood and the incidence of cold symptoms.
