ELIZABETH A. SKOWRON
Fulbright Fellow, 2010
Elizabeth Skowron was affiliated to CROLS while on a Fulbright Fellowship at NUI Galway from January to May, 2010. She is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology at Penn State University, Pennsylvania. She is Lead Investigator on a major NIMH-funded study of parenting processes and children's regulatory and behavioral outcomes in at-risk families. She received her B.A. in Psychology at The Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the SUNY Albany, where she studied family systems and the process of family therapy. While at CROLS she worked on psychophysiological data relating to mother-child dyads in Pennsylvania, and delivered a number of seminar sessions on, inter alia, grant applications and inter-disciplinary collaboration.
SUCHITRA PAL
Visiting Researcher, 2009/2010
Suchitra Pal was a Visiting Researcher at CROLS from 2009 to 2010, working on projects relating to occupational stress, work-life conflict, cross-cultural differences, satisfaction with life, and manager-employee relations. She received B.A., M.A., and M.Phil. degrees in Psychology from Utkal University, Orissa, India prior to completing a Ph.D. in Psychology at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) at Trondheim, Norway. She has received a number of grants and has served as a Visiting Researcher at Brandeis University in Massachusetts. Her research has been published in the
International Journal of Stress Management, the
Journal of Work, and
Nordic Psychology.

MICHAEL DOANE
Visiting Research Assistant, Fall 2009 & Summer 2010
Michael Doane was a Visiting Research Assistant from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. Michael will be graduating with a major in psychology and a double minor in sociology and cognition, logic and language in May 2011. In the past, he has completed research on the effects of positive emotions on sociability. His main research interest combines personality, public participation in religious services, and the hypothesized "upward-spiraling" effect of positive emotions on social support and health. Presently, Michael plans on attending graduate school in social/personality psychology after earning his undergraduate degree.
SÖREN MUCH
Erasmus Trainee Researcher, Summer 2010
Sören Much was an Erasmus Trainee Researcher from the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg, Germany. His Erasmus Trainee Programme was funded by the EU Leonardo programme for internships. Sören completed his CROLS internship from May to July 2010 after which he returned to Martin-Luther-Universität to complete his B.Sc. in Psychology. Following completion of his B.Sc., Sören plans to pursue a Master programme and ultimately a career in academic research. Sören’s research interests lie primarily in the fields of research methodology, psychology of sleep, and sensation and perception.
SINEAD LYDON
Health Research Board Scholar, Summer 2009
Sinead Lydon graduated from secondary school in 2007 and began a BA in Psychology at NUI Galway in the same year. In 2008, she was awarded a McGuinn Irish Scholar's Grant, which allowed her to spend a semester studying abroad at Villanova University, Pennsylvania, US. In summer 2009 she worked at CROLS, supported by funding from the Health Research Board, before returning to her final undergraduate year in September. After this she intends to pursue a graduate degree in psychology.
KEVIN MARSHALL

Kevin Marshall began in Bachelor of Arts at the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2007, where he studied Psychology, English, History, and Political Science & Sociology. Upon completion of First Year, he transferred into Denominated Psychology. Having been awarded a Health Research Board Summer Scholarship, Kevin undertook research as a member of CROLS for the duration of Summer 2009. The 2009/10 academic year will be the final year of his undergraduate degree, after which he aims to pursue a graduate degree.
JULIA BUCHNER
Visiting Research Assistant, 2008/2009
Julia Buchner graduated from secondary school in 2004 and began her study of Psychology at the University of Salzburg, Austria, in the same year. In 2007, she took up English and Communication Science as minor subjects. Her research interests lie in counselling, especially in occupational contexts, and in neurocognition. In 2008/2009, she studuied at the National University of Ireland, Galway, as an exchange student.
