Why am I not receiving new mail?

Why do I have to keep using the Send-Receive button to get new mail?
Why do I have to type in my password every time I try to send or receive e-mail?

The most likely explanation is that you are working offline. To check:

1. Look at the bottom right hand corner of the Outlook window.
   
   
2. If the following icon  appears, then you are working offline and currently disconnected from the server.
   
   
   
   
3. Double-click on the  icon and the following menu will appear. 
   
   
   
   
4. Click Work Offline from the menu i.e. remove the tick next to this option.
    
5. The Outlook icon now appears at the bottom right hand corner of the Outlook window. 
   
   
   
   
6. You are now connected to the Exchange server again and new mail will appear automatically in your Inbox.
