What happens when you near the mailbox quota?

As you reach your limit (quota), you'll get a message about the possibility of being unable to send or receive messages (when approaching 1.9GB).  With these first warnings you are still fully able to send and receive email messages. 
If you don't do some mailbox cleanup you will eventually be unable to send or receive messages at all (once the limit is reached at 2GB).
