Configure Outlook 2011 MAC for migrated users for off-campus

Pre-requisites

Users must have an internet connection

Configure Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac for migrated users, off-campus

To configure Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac to connect to the NUI, Galway Exchange 2010 server follow the steps outlined below:

1. Open Outlook 2011 application
   
   
2. Select Tools from the menu bar and select Accounts from the menu list 
    
   
   
3. In the lower right hand corner, click the + icon, then select Exchange…
    
   
   
4. Enter your information, Configure automatically must be unchecked.  Click Add Account button.
   
   Email Address: firstname.surname nuigalway.ie
   User Name: UDSstaff ID number - The format for staff number is 7 digits followed by s (e.g. 0088888s shown below)
   Password: Your email password
   Configure Automatically: Unchecked
   
   Server: https://mail.nuigalway.ie/ 
   
    
   
   
5. Click the Advance button for your Exchange account 
   
   
   
6. Ensure the Use SSL to connect is ticked for the Directory service setting
   Note:   Server: settings are automatically delivered, so if you see a different Server: entry to the screen shot below, do NOT change.  
   
   
   
7. Click OK
   
   
8. Close the Accounts box.  Your email is now configured for the NUI, Galway Exchange 2010 service
