A BlackBerry is a wireless handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) that allows you to send and receive email and to browse the Internet, while on the move. The device uses mobile phone networks to facilitate wireless communication.
BlackBerry functions include:
- eMail: new messages are automatically pushed to your device as they are received. You can also view email attachments in various formats e.g. Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS WordPerfect, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and JPEG image files.
- Web browser: capable of viewing a variety of formats e.g. HTML, WML and common image types. Also capable of rendering secure HTTPS-based pages and websites.
- Calendar: synchronised wirelessly with Microsoft Outlook on your desktop
- Address book: synchronised wirelessly with Microsoft Outlook on your desktop
- Task manager: synchronised wirelessly with Microsoft Outlook on your desktop
- Phone
- Memo pad
- Calculator

If you purchase a device other than those listed with an O2 connection, Information Solutions and Services cannot provide support to you.
The costs involved are:
- Initial purchase cost of the device
- Monthly rental cost for unlimited use of data i.e. email and Internet access (as part of an annual contract)
- Monthly rental cost for voice
- Phone call and SMS messaging tariffs at corporate contract rates.
You can opt for a data-only tariff giving unlimited use of data i.e. email and Internet access but outgoing phone calls are automatically disabled on the BlackBerry device.

Roaming is automatically disabled for your BlackBerry device. Roaming tariffs apply in all areas outside the Republic of Ireland and may also occur in some border areas dependent on the signal. You can request Roaming to be enabled or purchase a Roaming bundle through your
BlueClick account
