BlackBerry – NUI Galway email setup
NUI Galway email can only be setup on your BlackBerry device after the SIM card has been activated on the O2 network. The SIM card is active when the signal visible in the top right of your screen is
GPRS (upper case) or
EDGE (upper case) or
3g
Important: To complete this process you will require an Activation password. Before you start please contact the
ISS Service Desk (Tel. x5777 email
servicedesk nuigalway.ie to request your Activation password.
Note:
Activation passwords expire after 48 hours.

How to setup NUI Galway email on your BlackBerry (existing users)
- You will receive a text message from O2 and your device will stop working on the Vodafone network.
- Insert the new O2 SIM card

GPRS (upper case) or
EDGE (upper case) or
3g
signal must be visible on the screen
- Hit the Menu Key
and using the trackpad, go to
Options/Settings
- Using the trackpad select
Advanced Options
- Using the trackpad select
Enterprise Activation
- At the
Email: prompt enter your NUI Galway email address e.g. firstname.surname
nuigalway.ie
- At the
Password: prompt enter your activation password
Activation passwords are set by ISS. Please contact the
ISS Service Desk (Tel. x5777 email
servicedesk
nuigalway.ie
Note:
Activation passwords expire after 48 hours.
- Leave the
Activation Server blank
- Hit the Menu Key
and select
Activate
- Once activation has completed select
OK
How to setup NUI Galway email on a new BlackBerry
- At the Welcome screen, using your trackpad select
Run Setup Wizard
- At the Introduction screen, select
Next
- For Language select
English (United Kingdom), and
Next
- For Typing Input Language select
English (United Kingdom), and
Next

IMPORTANT
You will now be prompted
“Your device is not connected to the mobile network. Connect Now?”
Select
Yes
- Date and Time, using your trackpad select the Time Zone
Dublin, London (GMT)
Also Enter the current
Time and
Date, and
Next
- Through the following Introduction to BlackBerry screens, select
Next

Import SIM Card Contact, select
Yes, and
Next
- Enter your own details for
Owner Information, and select
Next
- Email Setup select
“I want to use a work email account with a BlackBerry Enterprise Server”, select
Next

“Has your BlackBerry Enterprise Server administrator provided you with an Enterprise Activation password?” select
Yes
- At the
Email: prompt enter your NUI Galway email address e.g. firstname.surname
nuigalway.ie
- At the
Password: prompt enter your activation password. Activation passwords are set by ISS. Please contact the

servicedesk
nuigalway.ie)

- Hit the trackpad and select
Activate.
Activation process will continue to run in the background as you are prompted for your next screen
- Continue to select
Next through the final “Did you Know” screens, and select
Finish to exit setup
- Activation complete, select
OK
