Team Profiles
Firas Awaja
Stefanie Korntner
Stefanie received a BSc (Physiology & Cell Biology) and MSc (Zoology) from the University of Salzburg (Austria) and carried out research at the Institute of Tendon- and Bone Regeneration at the Paracelsus Medical University in Salzburg (Austria) for her PhD studies. Her PhD focused on effects of nutritional glucose in tendon regeneration.Stefanie is working in Dr Dimitrios Zeugolis's group on novel treatment strategies for tendon-enthesis regeneration.
Jogula Srinivas
Jogula completed his PhD under Professor Prabhat Arya at the University of Hyderabad, India.During his doctoral studies, he synthesized various novel macrocyclic compounds based on carbohydrates and natural products like Geldanamycin.Jogula spent some time as a Post-doctoral research fellow in Professor Masahiko Hayashi’s group, Kobe University, Japan. In CÚRAM, he will work with Prof. Paul Murphy in developing galectin-3 inhibitors.
Ronaldo José Farias Corrêa do Amaral
Ronaldo completed a BSc (Biological Sciences - 2008), an MSc and a PhD (Morphological Sciences – 2011 and 2015) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). His general area of research includes stem cell biology, tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. In CÚRAM, Ronaldo will be working with Prof. Fergal O’Brien in a MedTrain project in order to develop novel biomaterials for wound healing based on the incorporation of platelet-rich plasma into collagen-based scaffolds.
Delphine Antoine
Delphine Antoine obtained her MSc in cell biology at the University of Nancy, France. Her main research interests comprise discovering and developing targeted immunotherapies for the treatment of cancer. Currently, she is working on the MedTrain project, under the supervision of Dr Gerard Wall at NUI Galway.
