Mobile Journalism in a Post-Truth World

Thursday 4th May 7:30pm – 9pm, Arts Millennium Building NUI Galway

Panel Discussion with:

Chaired by John Breslin of TechInnovate at NUI Galway, the session will explore the future of journalism in the “post-truth” era where fake news is constantly being discussed. 

Google News Lab Session

Friday 5th May 2.30pm-4.00pm, Arts Millennium Building NUI Galway

The News Lab collaborates with journalists and entrepreneurs to build the future of media. This session will provide practical research tips with case studies and examples from across Europe, highlighting the basic tools to help verify social media content across Google. Examples will be provided of use of virtual reality, 360 degree video and other cutting edge technology (on a budget).

Matt Cooke is the UK, Ireland and Nordics lead for the Google News Lab, a team dedicated to working with publishers to provide training, discuss innovative partnerships and share ideas.
