supporting students with asperger's syndrome
What is Asperger's Syndrome?
Asperger’s Syndrome (A.S.) is a neurologically based condition affecting the way in which information is processed. A.S. is classified at the higher end of the autistic spectrum, and can manifest itself in a range of cognitive and behavioural characteristics. Certain of these, such as the ability to concentrate almost exclusively on a chosen subject, can be seen as highly positive, particularly in an academic setting. Others, however, can experience difficulties in the area of social communication and interaction.
