The Disability Support Service is available to NUI Galway students who need supports or reasonable accommodations due to the impact of a disability, ongoing physical or mental health condition, or a specific learning difficulty at various stages of their university experience, including on their work placement.

Before going on placement, students registered with the DSS are advised to meet with a Disability Advisor to discuss supports they may require while on placement and consider their options regarding disclosure to their placement site. A placement plan, which specifies what reasonable accommodations or additional supports may be required by the student while on placement, may also be completed at the placement meeting.
