Strategic Educational and Social Marketing Approaches to STEM Outreach and Communication. This research arises out of the Building Effective Science Outreach Strategies research. Annual International Research Conference on STEM Outreach and Communication aims to bring together diverse outreach stakeholders to strategise more effective STEM outreach activities to promote STEM in Ireland and increase national take up of STEM subjects and careers. Guerilla Science: Public Science Installations, Interventions and Interruptions:
This inter-institutional and interdisciplinary research examines the potential for STEM Outreach best practice by drawing together scientists and artists to create public exhibitions to take STEM communication into public spaces and to change the way people engage with science in society. Pilot project on NUI Galway campus November 2011 and full exhibition and evaluation in various cities in Ireland in 2012 as a part of the Dublin City of Science’s year-long event.
