BMERM Programme 2013: Call for Applications
The Structured PhD Programme in Biomedical Engineering and Regenerative Medicine (BMERM) is an innovative multi-disciplinary, multi-partner PhD programme, combining world-class research (leading to the thesis) and a comprehensive didactic and experiential learning component. Research is performed in one of the following themes: Functional Biomaterials; Biomechanics and Mechanobiology; Bioelectronics and Rehabilitation Engineering; Regenerative Therapeutics (Orthobiologics, Neurotherapeutics, Cardiovascular Therapeutics). Post-Doctoral Researcher - Medical Device Design
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time fixed term position as a Postdoctoral Researcher within Mechanical & Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Ireland, Galway. This position is funded by the European Commission Seventh Framework Program (FP7) and is available from April 2013 to contract end date of 31st March 2015.
The project focuses on the development of a stent system for treatment of bronchial stenoses due to both malignant and benign diseases. The work combines elements of stent design, tissue engineering and drug delivery. NUI Galway’s role in the project is focused on stent system analysis, design and prototype development. http://pulmostent-project.com/index.php?id=71
