Energy Night

NUI Galway’s Energy Night 2013 is a student-run event focusing on accessing the future of Ireland’s energy requirements. Experts from the fields of Nuclear Energy, Renewable Energy and fossil fuels will discuss the best solution to the Irish Energy Crisis by means of a high-profile educated discussion, entitled 'Energising Ireland: What’s the Best Option?', followed by an energetic Q&A session.

The main event will be supported by a research poster showcase highlighting the important work and innovative thinking currently being carried out by researchers in the energy sector. A number of smaller activities will be held in conjunction with the poster showcase.

There will be a careers information presentation presented by NUI Galway graduates that will inform students of the potential jobs available after graduation. Tours of the new Engineering Building will also take place taking in a tour of the state-of-the-art Energy Centre, which provides all the building’s electricity and hot water.

There will be live demonstrations of the Engineering Building’s Building Management System (BMS), as well as lab demonstrations.

The careers presentation will start at 5pm, followed by the poster showcase at 6pm and the panel discussion will start at 7pm sharp.
