what our past graduates are Up to....
You may be glad to know that I have spent three and a half years working as an engineering geologist in Ireland, and seven months working as a GIS officer in Sydney. In between, many miles have been travelled. So, I'm still working in the industry, while seeing a small section of the world. Aideen Larkin (whom I mapped with in the Dingle penninsula) is working as an engineering geologist in Wellington, New Zealand.

I'm glad I did my undergrad degree at the geology department at NUIG, as it gave me the grounding I needed in all aspects of the Earth Sciences, and the small but warm atmosphere is something I do miss being at a larger department now. If there was one thing I would advise graduates when they've finished, is don't be afraid to look outside of Ireland to gain valuable experience, no matter what field you go into. Take the plunge!
