Examination Start Times
1. You are
required to be at the examination hall
20 minutes prior to the start of the
examination, i.e. at 09:10 for a 09:30 examination and at 14:10 for a 14:30 examination.
2. The examination
hall will open at 09:15 and 14:15 and all students
must be seated
five minutes before the start of the examination, by 09:25 and 14:25.
3. In the past there has been a serious problem with examinations starting late as
students only enter the exam hall at the last minute prior to the start of the examination. In
a large hall where 200-300 students may be taking the examination this can cause
serious delays in starting the examination.
4. Once you enter the exam hall exam conditions apply, please
read the University
Regulations governing the conduct of examinations, located under
Procedures and Regulations.
5. You are
not allowed to commence writing on answer books until the Chief
Invigilator instructs you to commence the examination. Writing on exam scripts prior to
the start of the examination will be treated as a breach of exam regulations and will be
reported to the Examinations Security Group.
