Biography:
Joseph Mahon was born in Galway, and obtained his B.A and M.A. degrees at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He was made a Junior Teaching Fellow at what was then University College Galway in 1968, and joined the department of Philosophy in 1969.
Research interests:
The theory of knowledge in Marxist philosophy, Marxism, existentialism, feminism, applied ethics and cultural policy.
