Educational Methods
The selection of appropriate teaching and learning methods is informed by awareness of the students educational and experiential background. Care is taken in the early stages in particular, to provide an adequate scaffolding of concepts and principles, reflecting the student's transition from a school environment to that of university.
The range of teaching methods to which students will be exposed in this programme includes formal lectures, tutorials, workshops, practical work, peer teaching, directed reading, problem solving, problem based learning, practice education, individual research and interprofessional learning. This diverse range includes "traditional" didactic methods but the student is gradually encouraged to become more pro-active in their own learning eventually realising that such lectures and tutorials are just part of the broad range of resources available to them.
