Welcome to the Discipline of Podiatry at NUI Galway. The Discipline of Podiatry sits within the
School of Health Sciences alongside the Disciplines of Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy and Health Promotion.
The Discipline of Podiatry was established in 2008. NUI Galway offers the only BSc (Hons) Podiatry course in the Republic of Ireland. The development of the podiatry course at NUI Galway is an exciting initiative that has been developed through close partnership with NUI Galway and the Health Services Executive (HSE) West. Dedicated teaching facilities have been developed within Áras Moyola and a state of the art podiatry clinic has also been developed by the HSE at the Merlin Park Hospital site, Galway. This is where the majority of the students’ clinical education and training will be undertaken throughout the programme.
There are 25 places on the undergraduate course available annually. We welcome applications from school leavers and mature applicants. The Discipline is committed to providing a comprehensive education for Podiatrists and the curriculum is based on best available evidence in relation to both theory and practice.
