Does IASLT accreditation guarantee that I can work in any country as a Speech and Language Therapist?
IASLT accreditation allows you to work as a Speech and Language Therapist in Ireland. However, if you wish to work in another country, you will need to contact the SLT professional body in that country. If you wish to work in the United Kingdom, you need to be registered with The Health Professions Council (HPC), the regulatory body for health professions in the United Kingdom. I have completed the first year of a Speech and Language Therapy degree in the UK. Can I transfer to NUI Galway to complete my degree?
Though the content of speech and language therapy education is similar throughout all universities, the various modules of the course are taught at different periods of time. Therefore it is not possible to transfer from another university (either from the UK or within the Republic of Ireland) to NUI Galway.
