Welcome to the Zoology Department Web Site

The aim of the Department is to strive for academic excellence in teaching and research, to facilitate students in their study of Zoology, and to ensu re that students have complete freedom of enquiry. The courses focus on providing students with a systematic understanding of animal biodiversity and a knowledge of the interactions between animals and their environments.

As well as providing a B.Sc. (Hons.) course in Zoology, the Department participates in the denominated degree courses of Environmental Science, Marine Science, and Earth and Ocean Sciences. The Department’s research record embraces many aspects of Zoology, particularly in the areas of ecology and evolution.
