Biography
Ruadhán Cooke – BA, MA, LLB, DEA (Sorbonne) –
University Teacher
Ruadhán Cooke is a University Teacher in French at the National
University of Ireland Galway and is the coordinator of the language component
of the B.Comm. International (French) degree programme.
He is a triple graduate of UCG / NUIG with a First Class Honours M.A. in
French and has also obtained a
Diplôme
d’Études Approfondies from the
Centre
International d’Études Francophones,
Université
de Paris IV-Sorbonne. He is currently working on a Ph.D. project on the
sports journalism of Antoine Blondin.
Other activity includes being the area coordinator for the Certificate
and Diploma exams in French for Specific Purposes of the
Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Paris and academic supervisor of the Erasmus / Socrates
year abroad in 8 partner institutions in France.
He is involved in a number of University
committees with a special interest in NUI Galway Boat Club, both as a member of
the coaching panel and Cox of the crew which won the Senior Men’s Eight
Championship of Ireland in 2012.
