undergraduate education
We teach both the discipline of general practice, largely in the fourth medical year, and general clinical methods to years one, two and three. The teaching depends completely on the enthusiastic participation of our network of General Practitioner tutors throughout the Western seaboard.
Our commitment to the undergraduate medical course has trebled with the advent of the new medical curriculum in 2006. Key components of this large increase in general practice input include early patient contact in Year 1 & 2 of the new programme and a doubling of the amount of time that students spend in general practice in year four.
