Postgraduate education

We are very pleased to have the largest programme of postgraduate education in general practice and primary care on the island of Ireland. Our courses are completely modularised allowing students to register for courses of one module, incrementally building to a PhD, if so desired! Indeed, NUI Galway were the first department to award a PhD in General Practice in Ireland. All our courses are accredited for CME by the ICGP. Approval from An Bord Altranais is expected in May 2011. Our postgraduate courses are broadly distributed between the three themes of primary care concepts, clinical primary care and clinical teaching.
